Short & Sweet ..

Maryna and our Babygirl have gone to Ukraina for 2 months. As I write this she is flying to Amsterdam and from there to Kiev. We just had too much going on over there with her Mom for her not to be there . We were having to depend on other people and family members for all of our information about her health and how she was doing.
So off she went until the 27th of March when with any luck her Mom will be returning with her to live with us for a while so she can get healthy. Hell, I may just keep her here and not let her go back until we move there to grow grapes and do whatever it is we are going to do there. So,Gino and I are alone for the next two months with Maryna's stupid ass dog who just loves to pee in the house instead of the yard. Damn what a life..

Why In The Blue Hell ?

Would the United States Of America want to put Missile Defense Sites in parts of Poland and other Central Europe Countries ? The US says that they are intended to counter threats from Iran and North Korea. Russia and other Eastern European countries say that is a crock. Poland and the Czech Republic are both former Soviet Countries that are now NATO members say, what the hell. One can host the Missiles and the other can host the Radar Sites to control them. It is win-win for the US and the hosting countries. The countries make much needed cash for their leaders and the US can defend against Lil Kim and that other Crazy Man whom has no respect what so ever for the US. Now today NATO said they were cutting off checks to Lil Kim, so you know he is in one of his better moods with this news. Oh!! If anyone is thinking about what Vladimir thinks, he is not too pleased with this news. Me, being me, called my pal Sergei Ivanov and got quite an ear full from him. He said that if they had missiles that powerful that Russia would know and would and could have put a stop to it years ago. Sergei told that he of all people would know "he is the Defense Minister of Russia" and with the right amount of money spread around all of this would be very low key and Vladimir would not be going crazy and making his days very long. Now my pal has to travel and make it look like a big deal, not to mention all the cash he will have to put out to make peace with his other Russian officials who have said that they see it as a threat that will upset the security balance in Central and Eastern Europe and these guys just don't like this one bit. More to come on this later.

So Far This Year ...

I have broken a tooth, had a very bad month at work and I found out today that a friend had gotten killed. Well he was not a good friend, however a friend and he leaves a wife and child with no one to care for them. This is the bad part, he was a former scum bag that had started to do good. He had quit his scum bag ways and was doing fine for himself and new family. I will not get started on his bad habits and will remember what few good traits that he had. He loved to work. He was happy getting up and going to work. What he happen to be doing at the time did not matter, he just loved to go to work. He liked manual labor the best. If you had to move he was there, if you had to move something he was there as well and attacked the job that had to be done. When the job was done he looked for more to do. You try to pay him,nope no way. He would grab his heart and act like you had shot him. This was just the type of man that he was. Nothing phony, he was just Rob and this is the way Rob was.

My New Best Friend

AS a rule I don't brag about our friends , Well I do , I just don't call it bragging. We have a friend from Uzhgorod Ukraine with us this week. This is Maryna's hometown and our second home. We have with us Vasyl Zilhalov from Radio Free Europe. This is a man that has held several political offices in Ukraine, he knows all the power people from several countries and calls them all friends. Well he has one more friend to add to his list and so do I.
Dr. Zilhalov has written books, teaches at National Schools and is just an all around good man. I met his son Andre and his beautiful wife Kate on my last trip to Ukraina. His daughter and grand daughter were with us last month and now the Grand Master of them all is with us this week. If I keep this up, I may be famous one day also. I am the man that met Gen Omar Bradley ,Vice Pres Gore and Tipper. Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr and Clinton. I am also good friends with Dr. Dave Bubba" Harrison from Toronto Canada and Dr Zilhalov is the cream of the crop. Damn I hang around classy people now that I am married to Maryna.
